Beach Wedding Special Concerns
Waterfront weddings on the Gulf coast. The weather is one of the most important considerations. Make sure you have an indoor alternative to your beach wedding plan. It’s not just rain or cold weather that you have to consider. Remember extreme heat could be difficult for some of your guest.
Remember to check the tide schedule. Know whether the tide will be incoming or outgoing during your ceremony. Check to see what phase the moon is in – inquire about higher than average tides.
Outdoor photography -- it's completely different than indoor. Indoors photography is not dependent on time of day, tide schedule or weather conditions. Find experienced outdoor wedding photographers.
Most beaches are public property. Be prepared as you may very well be sharing the space with total strangers. Have several friends in charge of working with folks that may happen upon your ceremony.
More care needs to be taken with food when you are planning your beach wedding. Food and refreshments need to be cooler tolerant.
Accessibility becomes more of an issue, as guest will be exposed to potentially uneven or difficult terrain. Remember there are no elevators or gently sloping ramps for older guest. Make sure to plan ahead to ensure that all of your guests have access to your ceremony.
Remember to be prepared for insects. There are many environmentally friendly deterrents to these uninvited guests.
