Join us in early 2008, when the streets of Historic Downtown Galveston will be transformed into a sea of green, purple, and gold. That's right, Mardi Gras! Galveston 2008 is just around the corner, and the Galveston Park Board of Trustees and the Mardi Gras! Galveston Committee have already begun planning for the festivities.

This longstanding tradition of merrymaking and revelry on the island will kick off on January 25th and last through February 5th, 2008. More than 250,000 people attend Mardi Gras! Galveston every year, and this year's celebration is projected to be even bigger and better with more parades, more entertainment, more beads, and of course, more excitement!

The Park Board of Trustees and Mardi Gras! Galveston Committee are still in the planning stages for the 24th anniversary of Mardi Gras! Galveston, but are very excited about the many things in store.

In 2008 merrymakers can expect a traditional Mardi Gras celebration with plenty of parade processions, entertainment, art exhibits, sporting events, and elaborate masquerade balls. The entertainment line-up as well as official Mardi Gras! Galveston artwork will be announced at a later date, but for continuous updates on Mardi Gras! Galveston 2007 visit www.mardigrasgalveston.com or call 1-888-GAL-ISLE.
